TEHRAN – Iran’s Oil Minister, Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh, leaves Tehran for Vienna today to participate in the 139th OPEC Extraordinary Sitting, the ministry’s Public Relations Office reported.

The sitting is going to initiate discussion on oil quota production and exchange of views as to finding ways and means to stabilize the current oil market which has accumulated unprecedented 3-month oil backup. Moreover, the Ministerial Supervision Committee headed by the oil minister will hold a meeting at the OPEC Headquarter before the main session.

The 140th OPEC Regular Sitting will be held in Vienna on March 8, 2006.
